Your Role - Internship

FlexWare has secured a funded internship for a 2026/2027 summer program. The internship is suited for a student studying for a STEM degree looking to gain hands-on experience with us this summer!

This will be a 10-week/approximately 400 hours paid internship. The intern will be expected to commence work from mid-November 2025 to mid-February 2026 (flexible start/end dates).

About You

• You will be in your penultimate/final year of study, or a recent graduate.

• Ideal candidates may specialise in electronics, mechatronics, or software engineering, however, we are open to any applicants with other STEM specialisations.

• Experience in languages or IDEs: C/C++, Arduino Platform

• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• A positive can-do attitude.

Your Impact

As an Intern you will be working with our engineers on a project where you will be:

• Investigating Edge AI processing on Telemetry modems.

• Explore how to maximise the benefit of NPU platforms for edge clasification.

• Designing and documenting the R&D processes used to evaluate different units.

• Collect and display experimental data on NPU technology performance.

• Integrating AI requirements into NPU platform developments.

• Reporting progress updates and seeking guidance from your mentor, using effective time management to collaborate with engineers.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the internship position you must:

• Be living in Auckland and legally permitted to work in New Zealand.

• Studying, or has recently completed, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or qualification at NZQA level 6-10. If the study has been completed, the closing date of your final semester should be less than 12 months ago.

• Studying, or has studied science, technology, engineering, design or business at a New Zealand tertiary education institute.
