
Callaghan Summer Internship 2025/2026
Your Role - Internship
FlexWare has secured a Callaghan Innovation funded internship for the 2025/2026 summer program. The internship is suited for a student studying for a STEM degree looking to gain hands-on experience with us this summer!
This will be a 10-week/approximately 400 hours paid internship. The intern will be expected to commence work from mid-November 2025 to mid-February 2026 (flexible start/end dates).
About You
You will be in your penultimate/final year of study, or a recent graduate.
Ideal candidates may specialise in electronics, mechatronics, or software engineering, however, we are open to any applicants with other STEM specialisations.
Experience in languages or IDEs: C/C++, Arduino Platform
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A positive can-do attitude.
Your Impact
As an Intern you will be working onsite with our engineers on a project where you will be:
Development and testing of NTN telemetry system for remote IoT applications.
Documenting component selection criteria and designs, assisting with optimising the function and design of a product.
Measuring transmit power consumption, bandwidth costs, optimal transmission frequencies.
Characterising signal quality in a nearby black spot, clear sky view requirements, operation within plastic enclosure.
Reporting progress updates and seeking guidance from your mentor, using effective time management to collaborate with engineers.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the internship position you must:
Be living in Auckland and legally permitted to work in New Zealand.
Studying, or has recently completed, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or qualification at NZQA level 6-10. If the study has been completed, the closing date of your final semester should be less than 12 months ago.
Studying, or has studied science, technology, engineering, design or business at a New Zealand tertiary education institute.
