
Electronics Engineer
About the Role
We’re currently seeking a driven and technically proficient Electronics Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
This role is ideal for candidates eager to engage in all aspects of electronic product research and development. The position offers flexibility, ranging from 0.8 to 1.0 FTE, depending on the applicant’s work-life balance preferences and skill set.
About You
You’re a hands-on engineer with a solid foundation in embedded systems and hardware design. You enjoy solving complex problems, writing clean and reliable code, and collaborating with others to bring innovative products to life. Ideally, you bring:
At least 2 years of PCB design experience
At least 2 years of firmware development experience
Proficiency in Git for version control and collaborative development
Experience working with wireless communications (BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, RF)
Experience working with microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, nRF, or similar)
Familiarity with Altium Designer for PCB layout and design
Familiarity with writing C/C++ code for embedded systems with a focus on robustness and reliability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent diagnostic skills and debugging abilities
Proven ability to manage projects effectively with a proactive and efficient approach
Strong time management and self-motivation; able to work independently while collaborating and seeking support when needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical, Software, or Computer Systems Engineering
Minimum 2 years of industry experience preferred (exceptional graduates will be considered)
Must be based in Auckland and legally authorised to work in New Zealand
